Bangkok’s Art Center
Bangkok is an eclectic and exciting city, and visiting here for any reason carries its share of thrills. For business travelers, it’s a bustle of activity, with plenty of opportunities to observe the local culture, and to feel part of the scene. It’s enormously diverse, and there’s always something to do, day or night, and our Bangkok business hotels offer rest and hospitality for all the times in between. The pace of Bangkok is relaxed and easy, and invites visitors to do the same. This can be an extremely welcome change of pace for those used to working with single-minded determination, as it allows for the chance to slow down a bit and enjoy the scenery.
And the scenery is lovely here. For urban delights or naturally gorgeous vistas, there are plenty of visual distractions to keep you in a pleasant state of enchantment. The visual art reflects the diversity of the city, and its dense mix of cultures helps artists here to produce some profoundly fascinating works of art. For visitors looking for the chance to see new works of art, it’s rather impossible to avoid, with the city’s multiple galleries offering ample opportunity to sample the treasures here. But for business travelers looking to entertain a client in a formal setting, where the work is always sophisticated, edgy and engaging, the Art Center is the perfect place.
Having just completed a new renovation, this is a lovely space to see fantastic contemporary works with an international sensibility, favoring local Bangkok themes. The Art Center at Center of Academic Resources Chulalongkorn University has an amazing track record for showing edgy and innovative work. As it is connected to the University, the experimental level here is very high, and they bring in amazing and capable artists to present and make work in a setting that is open and inviting. With artists as diverse as Marina Abramovic, Jakapan Vilasineekul, and Manit Sriwanichpoom, this space has a stunning history, and a very bright future.
