Theme Park Dangers

Snapped cables, broken tracks, falling objects, and spoiled food have all caused major incidents at theme parks around the country . While most people who walk through the gates of an amusement park or even a water park can expect a safe and enjoyable experience, a small percentage of guests will be involved in something that results in injury, illness, or even death.

Some of the most terrible theme park accidents have resulted in multiple deaths. Luckily most major incidents only caused minor injuries. Extreme examples involve major burns, loss of limbs, decapitation, and paralysis. Even those who survive with minor injuries may be faced with severe post traumatic stress disorder.

While they can do nothing to combat park negligence, guests can steps to ensure that their visit is a safe one. Following all park safety guidelines, ride restrictions, and staying away from restricted areas are common sense. Likewise taking care to protect against heat, sunburn, dehydration, and exhaustion are the responsibility of guests, not the park. Awareness of food allergies and sensitivities and all minor and major health conditions are also key to a fun day at a theme park.
