Many sales people from all over the world are at work today working on getting a sale. Some of them are working harder than others. For some of those sales people that is because they are lazy, but for others it is because they know that if they try to hard they will never get the sale. This has been said in a number of ways, by a number of people and yet there are still a number of people who still don’t understand how to do it. Take for example an intern working for Southwestern Company going door to door doing sales. If they are too nervous when they knock on the door and start to sell their product, the people are going to feel like they are being sold to. No one likes to feel like they are doing something that isn’t really for them, and that is what being sold to feels like. For some people it even has the feel of big corporations and the many lies many people feel they tell. Instead this is a small person selling a few select products. Show them what you have in such a way that they want to buy it without having to be sold on the benefits of it.
In order to do this you need to relax . Find out a little bit about them and their desires and offer to show them a few products that they might enjoy. Let them ask you questions and offer up any information that they would like to know. The first sentence was the most important however. You need to relax while doing this. If you are tense and under pressure you will feel like there is never enough that you can do. One possible way of putting it is that you should try with everything you have to make each and every sale, and then not care if you fail to make the sale. Let it go, and move on to the next big opportunity across the street, or if you aren’t selling door to door like the Southwestern Company intern, the next great opportunity at your next business meeting. Go into each meeting with enthusuasm and don’t let it affect you if it doesn’t go the way you planned.
