Situated on Lake Rowena , this lovely 50-acre botanical garden will offer you exactly what you’re looking for, an escape. The Garden is huge, and has a beautiful collection of plants, a refreshing rose garden, meandering paths over gentle hills and shaded glades; towered by the Leu House, built in 1888, which now serves as a decorative arts museum known as the Garden House.

The scenic walkways will take you through this southern styled garden, including America’s largest Carmellia collection, 3-acres of idea gardens for weekend projects, 2-acre Tropical Stream Garden, an Herb garden, a Palm, Bamboo and Cycad gardens, and a Butterfly Garden, which in the springtime is teaming with these six-legged graceful, colorful aviators known as symbols of hope and rebirth. All areas have sculptures nestled about, along with benches and water fountains.

The Garden House is a place for meetings and receptions, which provides a nice array of services to the public. It also serves as a gathering place for more than 30 local horticultural, environmental, and historical groups, providing classrooms, and exhibition space. Three rooms: the Camellia Room, the Rose Room, and the Orchid Room serve as a place for educational forums, conferences, banquets and seminars. The Botanical Library servicing students, homeowners and many green industry professionals, and the Garden Gift Shop is accessible to the public without entry into the Gardens.

This Garden is located not far from the airport and any of the four star hotels in Orlando , so before you leave this wonderful city and head back home; back to work, do yourself a favor, stop in and take a stroll through paradise. The best things about Big Bang Theory

Last summer I got a lot more TV channels with the Directtv free installation in my house. Although I flip through many channels at all different times of the day and night, I can’t help but look forward to the Big Bang Theory on every Monday night. The show is just finishing up it’s third season and next season will change days from Monday to Thursday.

I think the thing I like the most about the Big Bang Theory is that the four characters truly are like the nerds of the real world. Sheldon who is so smart he can’t fully function around normal people. Leonard who is actually very normal but tends to be happier with people that are scientific. Raj, who is my favorite, is afraid to talk to girls without alcohol in his body. Howard who loves women and never runs out of geeky pick up lines that never work. The four of them have such good chemistry together it’s amazing you are watching a show and not just nerdy guys talking to each other.

Then there is Penny, who lives across the hall. Penny is normal and doesn’t normally understand the vocabulary of what Sheldon says nor does she care. Leonard truly loves Penny and in the third season they finally start to date. I hope the fourth season in the fall is as good as the last three amazing seasons.

The benefits of being an open source operating system is that there are more people to make apps for you. In this case it is Kindle making an app for Android. Both companies are expecting this to do very well. The app will let you buy and download books from the Kindle library, read either horizontal or vertical and will use Whispersync to make sure all Kindle enabled devices such as the actual Kindles, and the program on the computer know what page you are on, bookmarks, notes and highlights. Kindle’s hope, beyond just making a ton of new book sales is that it will attract people who have not yet committed to buying a Kindle and may allow them to see the reasons they may want one.

There has been a lot of hype about the IPad since it came out. While it looks cool, Microsoft has been boasting that it too had a similar product coming out soon. Unfortunately for them, specks on their new HP Slate have been leaked recently, and while some parts of it are better, overall it is looking like the IPad may actually be the better choice for these two first generation products.

It is impressive what you can do with a bunch of people you’ve only ever met online. I have friends who we only really get along when we are online, and that is ok. With a lot of my other friends and business associates, it has generally been better to connect at a deeper level whether that means we need some time apart to talk to each other over the long distances of the internet, or if that means that one of us needs to fly or drive in and meet face to face. Here is a great article on how to do the second part, taking an online community and connecting in person for the first time.

San Francisco Nights

Well you have made it back to your San Francisco hotel www.hotelsanfrancisco.com after a long day of shopping to kick your shoes off and take in a nap. Then you will want to decide what to do for dinner and your night time activites. There are places to eat all over town with an emphasis on different ethnic foods you can head over to Japan Center for some sushi or Chinatown for some chinese cuisine. There is always some great Italian food in the North Beach area of town which also has Coit Tower to visit and see the skyline of the city lit up. Seafood can be found all over town but there are some great waterfront restaurants down on Fishermans Wharf. After you have had a great meal what do you want to do next? You sure don’t want to fall asleep to soon. You have to take in as much as possible and sleep when you get home.

How about taking in a some sort of live performance. There are always some out of the ordinary shows that you could only see in places like San Francisco, London or New York like Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band. For those of you who don’t live in one of these mega cities you may not know that Yoko Ono is still influencing the art and music world while keeping her world peace campaign going. She is now 76 years old and is releasing her latest project which is a blend of many musical styles. Fans can see her at places like the Fox Theatre in Oakland.

I like to find the comedy clubs in different towns especially in places like San Francisco where the truly talented go. There are some that have dinner available as well which is perfect for that one stop fun destination. Check out Punch Line Comedy Club on Battery Street. In February and March you will be able to catch Chris hardwick, Kevin Camia, Al Madrigal, Tony Rock, Rob Cantrell, and Robert Kelly. So take part in some real stress therapy and laugh.
