A Kauai vacation is indeed something to be excited about. As the oldest island in the Hawaiian chain, Kauai boasts some of the most beautiful beaches, with white sandy shores and temperate waters. Anahola Beach is great for year-round swimming and has plenty of shade for the kids. Because it is protected by a reef offshore, the weather remains warm enough even in winter. On the North shore, visit ‘Anini Beach which boasts Hawaii’s longest reef running the whole length of the beach. Expensive homes are located along the bluffs and it is there that some of the best windsurfing can be had. Donkey Beach is a secluded beach with a rocky shoreline and a band of sand and trees that make the area comfortable and serene. The name comes from t donkeys that were used to haul cane to the fields nearby. You will not find any facilities or lifeguards on this beach, so it is best to come without the kids as the water can also sport strong currents and waves. Hanalei Beach is a white sandy beach with mountains surrounding the bay. Surfing here is famous and you will find many locals here on their boards, as well as tourists who know their way around the waves. Hideaways Beach is a beautiful beach on the North Shore, with great swimming when the waves are low. There are several other beaches awaiting exploration, all with their particular personality and assets. A good Kauai vacation package will help you decipher which ones are closest to your taste. Surely once you are in this Hawaii paradise, you will want to visit as many of them out as you can.
