The Global City of Bangkok

Glamorous Bangkok is one of the most exotic and popular tourist destinations in the world. As the capital of Thailand, it serves as the ideal entry point for this country created from Chinese, Indian, and Western influences. While the city is undeniably modern in design and convenience, it moves at a much slower pace than many global capitals, allowing visitors the chance to relax and absorb the multicultural energy of Bangkok.

Many visitors make it a point to visit the Grand Palace. As the official residence of the royal family of Thailand, it contains a number of throne rooms and the famous Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Other must-sees include The Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) and Wat Pho which houses the largest reclining Buddha in the world.

As the capital city, Bangkok is home to both the National Museum of Thailand and the National Gallery Museum. Other museums include the Vimanmek Mansion Museum, the Museum of Buddhism, and the Children’s Discovery Museum. Bangkok also boasts the National Theater as well as the Chalerm Krung Theater and the Thailand Cultural Center.

Bangkok offers some of the best shopping in the world. Prices are significantly cheaper than in Western cities and everyone bargains. The city is famous for its huge markets and also has a number of modern shopping malls and plazas. Visitors can stay in the best Bangkok hotels, eat incredible Thai food at just about any restaurant, and stay up late sampling the exciting Bangkok night clubs.
