It is a meeting point for both northern and southern India. Other names for Hyderabad include the City of Pearls and the City of Nizams.

Hyderabad is a leading developed city and is known for the strength of its technical workforce and is a center for IT (information technology) (the Indian silicon valley) and medical sciences. There are many conferences held in Hyderabad and it is known as a business meeting center.
